The Pinoy Step is less of a drill and more of a move that you can use when getting in the paint. Players like Mikal Bridges and Tyrese Haliburton have gotten especially good at using this move. The way it works is a bit difficult but will be effortless once you work on it. Let’s say you start the move on the right elbow or a little further in you would start start with your right foot and faking the ball up in the air with two hands after gathering the ball, then step with your left foot and finish on the right side. This move can also be used as a reverse if you’re attacking the basket from a more sideline angle, so again if you were on the right side same fake as before but now you’re steeping with your left to the other side of the hoop and finishing on the left side. The best way to get better at this move is by first studying it in game (Tyrese Haliburton has the best examples) and paying attention to the players footwork and then just going out and doing it in the gym your self.
